General description of the area

“Grzymałów” area is located in the central part of the Miechów highlands, north of Grzymałów village- in Słaboszów municipality. Xerothermic grasslands grow on the steep slopes on the western and southern exposure. Western slopes fall to the picturesque deep gorge with forest. Length- approximately 710 m and a width- approximately 300 m – 600 m. The total surface of area is 15,2 ha. The land is located between wheat fields.

The value and importance of the natural

The area is distinguished by its well-preserved fragments of xerothermic grasslands: Inuletum ensifoliae with: Anemone sylvestris, Aster amellus, Campanula sibirica, Orchis militaris, Linum hirsutum; and in the forest: Cypripedium calceolus, Lilium martagon, Listera ovata, Cephalanthera damasonium. The area is of great importance for the conservation of biodiversity of agricultural landscape on the Miechów highlands.

Threats

  • lack of traditional-extensive agricultural use (grazing, mowing, cutting bushes);
  • elimination of other species by the grass;
  • in the northern part-small, wild garbage sites;
